PAS dumped UMNO

This was one news I want to hear over the past weeks and I felt vindicated reading it. I thank PAS and their leadership for their wisdom and careful thought in not buying the offer by UMNO. At least we know that PAS is a party of principle and UMNO is just like the devil in disguise, tempting in anywhere and everywhere.

PAS rejects co-operation with Umno

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said his party had rejected any efforts have any co-operation with Barisan Nasional and Umno to form a coalition government at either state or federal level.

Speaking to reporters after PAS Central Working Committee meeting and the party's consultative council Thursday, he said PAS would be open to holding discussions with all, inclduing political parties, NGOs, institutions and individuals in the interest of the nation.

Hadi stressed that PAS would continue to remain in Pakatan Rakyat and be active in working towards changing the present government.

Press Conference by President of Malaysian Bar on Saiful's Medical Report

Ambiga SreenevasanVery troubling reports have been published, which reveal the existence of a medical report of an examination done by a doctor on Mohd Saiful Bukhari bin Azlan a few hours before Saiful lodged a police report that he had been sodomised. The medical report apparently shows that there is no evidence that he had been sodomised by anyone.

Such reports raise some very serious questions that require immediate answers:

(1) Are the police in possession of such a medical report?

(2) Was the doctor concerned interviewed by the police and was he detained for any length of time?

(3) Is the doctor concerned facing any form of intimidation and if so, by whom?

(4) Is there a medical report by another doctor that either confirms or contradicts the first medical report?

(5) If it is true that the medical report exists showing a lack of prima facie evidence, what then could have been the justification for the vigorous actions taken against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as well as the public call by the authorities for his DNA sample?

The answers to these questions are of paramount importance, as they bring into focus the integrity of our law enforcement system.

These latest disclosures regarding the investigations into the sodomy allegations are not the only ones to raise questions that need answering. There is, for example, also the issue of P. Balasubramaniam’s abrupt “disappearance” that has yet to be satisfactorily explained. No one can deny that the circumstances of his first and second statutory declarations are highly unusual. All these show a pattern of events that cause much disquiet to right-thinking members of the public.

The Malaysian people are deeply troubled. A country that truly believes in the rule of law should not be faced with so many disturbing developments and unanswered questions.

The credibility of the Malaysian justice system as a whole is therefore at stake. The integrity of professionals, be they doctors or lawyers, must never be interfered with. The public must be left in no doubt that the criminal justice system in this country will not be misused or abused. There must be nothing less than an open and thorough investigation into these cases. This calls for the courage and professionalism of all those involved to do the right thing no matter the consequences. And those who have shown such courage and integrity must know that they live in a country where it is safe to do so.

No Case?

So what can we say about that.... is this REAL

So the doctor's report says :
zero (0) skin tearing,
zero (0) active bleeding,
zero (0) traces of pus, etc.,

means he can’t be suffering from a pain in the anus as what he alleges.

The doctor’s diagnosis is that he rules out or TRO (to rule out) assault (sodomised).

In short: Mohd Saiful Bukhari Bin Azlan is not suffering any pain in the anus and neither was he assaulted or sodomised in the anus.

..... now what is more important is this, will DSAI be freed from any allegation of sodomy or investigation continues.

Thanks to RPK, the medical report is stated in his blog

Can I be Malaysian?

I simply don't get it. Either I am an idiot or simply living a world of my own. I am a Malaysian. I don't subscribed to racial and/or religious politics. So does that mean I'm a secularist i.e. the believe that religion and matters relating to the state is separated. To a certain extent YES. YES because Malaysia is a multi religious and multi racial as such matters relating to religion is personal to that person and that person only.

NO we are not secular because as described that the religion of the federation is Islam. Well depending on who we are and what stand we make, it's either YES or NO. But then again, in 1988 the then Supreme Court in Che Omar Che Soh held that Islam or Islamic Religion in Article 3 of the Constitution in the context means only such acts as relates to rituals and ceremonies and that Islamic laws was rendered isolated in a narrow confinement of the law of marriage, divorce and inheritance only (1988, 2 MLJ 55) until of course the law in it's essence is changed by a 2/3 majority in Parliament to amend the Constitution.

Having said that, I am a little sceptical as to why the need to form a political party just to unite all Malay and guarding the well being of Islam as I always thought that the rights of Malay and Muslim are already protected by the constitution. More so the oath of offices of almost every administrative position in this country requires the declarant to uphold and to protect the constitution.

So why the need to have such discussion and secret talks. However what is urgently needed is a collaboration of all parties namely Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat for a unity talk on racial harmony instead of racial polarisation. The agenda for all parties is to establish a Malaysian identity free that we can be proud of. Are there not Malay, Chinese or Indian that hard poor? When Datuk Nicol David became the first Malaysian to be World No. 1, are we not happy? Or when our Indian friends climbed and conquered Mount Everest, are we not overjoyed? Or when the Sidek brothers triumphed in Badminton or Datuk Jimmy Choo as top shoemaker designer who now resides in England or Fish Leong who found success in Taiwan and other top entrepreneur who made Malaysia an aroma of success. Are we not all Malaysians?

As such, I am totally disgusted with man made politics with all the so-called talks, rumour mongers or mergers such as UMNO-PAS, MCA-DAP, MIC-Hindraf etc etc all for racial politics that are unbecoming and unhealthy for Malaysia. Don't they know that the recent general election spoke for itself - res ipsa loquitor and that the majority prefers a Malaysian identity rather than the 'straight jackets' racial division.

I am a Malaysian, and am proud to say that I am the seventh generation living in Tanah Melayu.
Can I live in peace? Can our politicians be a little more matang... and responsible to all Malaysians?

Good One

A letter written by Disgusted Malaysian found in Malaysia-Today a comparison between Malaysia and Australia.

Make sense, a lot of sense....

Malaysians have been deceived for so long that we have been subsidized for our petrol. In fact we have been paying more than our fair share for our petrol. How is this? We need to look at the big picture of petrol prices, the price of cars, toll charges, per capita income and the cost and efficiency of public transportation.

I am glad that our Minister of Information made a comparison of petrol prices in Malaysia and some Scandinavian countries. Let me make a simple comparison between Malaysia and Australia to show that we have been cheated all these years.

1. Per capita income of Australia (USD35,990.00) is more than 6 times that of Malaysia (USD5,490.00) in 2006. (Source: World Bank)

2. Starting pay of a graduate in Malaysia RM2,500.00 per month and in Australia AUD4,000.00 (RM12,000.00) per month.

3. Price of one liter of petrol in Malaysia RM2.70 and in Australia AUD1.75 (RM5.25). The price differential is RM2.55 a liter.

Assume we buy a similar new car in both countries, a 1.8L Honda Civic Auto cost RM110,000.00 in Malaysia and AUD24,000.00 (RM72,000.00) in Australia. That is a difference of RM38,000.00. If we divide the price differential of the car with the cost of petrol, 38,000/2.55=14,900 liters of petrol. This means that an owner of a Honda Civic will upon consuming the first 14,900 liters of petrol is actually not getting a single cent of subsidy from the government.

The cost of a new Honda Civic in Malaysia is equivalent to 44 months salary of a fresh graduate. In Australia it is 6 months salary of a fresh graduate. It is a known fact that according to our previous Minister of MITI she openly admitted that the duty on cars in Malaysia is imposed not to protect Proton alone, but that the government is now dependent on car duty as an important source of government revenue. So where has the trillions of dollars collected all these years gone?

I had recently returned from a driving holiday in Australia. We drove approximately 8,000 km from Melbourne to Perth and return, and guess what? I did not have to pay a single cent in terms of TOLL!!!!!!!! The road condition is in no way inferior to that of our Malaysian roads.

The state of public transportation in this country is a joke and needs no further elaboration. The government will never improve public transportation as this will force Malaysians to buy the national car!

If we look at the big picture it looks as if we Malaysians have been taken to the cleaners by the Malaysian government all these years without realizing it. We have been conned by the Malaysian government into believing that the government has been so kind to us by subsidizing our petrol. It is especially sad if we compare car prices with the developed countries in addition to the income level. It is time that the present Minister of MITI take a good look at the national car policy and correct the wrongs after all these years. The man who is responsible for this atrocious Malaysian car project is no longer in power, so fear not, Mr. Minister and do the right thing for the citizens of this country.

To Pakat or Not to Pakat

The recent events relating to muqabalah or mubarakah or secret meetings between UMNO and PAS is not only surprising but uncalled for. Though I thank God for PAS admission recently but it is certainly damaging to Pakatan Rakyat.

Just when DAP and PAS are working together closely for a common good for all Malaysian together with PAS' manifesto of "Islam is for All", then Malaysians who voted for Pakatan Rakyat were shocked with new revelations of such muqabalah or mubarakah or secret meetings worst still with evil UMNO.

Though UMNO may invite PAS for muqabalah or mubarakah or secret meetings especially in a talk in forming a coalition government in Selangor and PAS going ahead in talking to UMNO is definitely a no-no, not to DAP but a hit below the belt to KeAdilan as both PKR and PAS had working relationship during the tsunami election. Like Karpal says, it is NOT BONAFIDE at all.

Worst still when Karpal question Nasharudin Mat Isa's statement last week that that the Malays were beginning to believe the sodomy allegations against DSAI. And felt that his statement is not only contempous and ill-advised but an open attack on DSAI who is presently embroiled in efforts to tarnish his credibility by allegations of sodomy.

So, Nasharudin attacked DSAI publicly and had a discussion with UMNO on Malay unity and Islam. I am puzzled. More surprised with the recent suggestion by Tok Guru Nik Aziz, about dissolving PAS and UMNO and form a new party based on Islam and Malay. I don't know whether Tok Guru is pulling everybody's legs or whether he is serious. But nevertheless it's is not worth it. A betrayal to Malaysians.

Will a Republican be a Running Mate to a Democrat?

YAB Lim Guan Eng did almost that by appointing a former Gerakan leader to a high position in a Penang investment arm company recently. Such appointment is rare especially in a conservative country like ours. Transcending political ideology is something very new. And I believe when Guan Eng appoints this former Gerakan leader, he is at risk in inviting new criticism not only from his own political party but that of Pakatan and also from the other side. But nevertheless it is a good decision for the rakyat as it shows commitment to change by the present state government.

I read with much interest this news recently, not ours but on the United States. The title of the news reads "Obama veep team floats GOP name". It is definitely not a populist decision if it is a Malaysian local political idea. Just imagine, a deputy prime minister from an Opposition party THAT will definitely blow the heads of Najib. He probably quit UMNO and form 'UMNO terbaru'.

So there will be many first if Obama wins the Presidency. Not only that he will be the first African American to be President of a white majority state but also the first President that has a Vice President who is a Republican. AND if Ann Veneman (former Agriculture Secretary) is chosen as Obama's running mate, she will be the first woman Vice President who is from a Republican Party. However my gut feeling feels that Chuck Hagel (another Republican Senator from Nebraska) may be the choice of a running mate, as he seen moving around with Senator Obama in his recent tour to Iraq and the middle east.

But if Ann Veneman is chosen then it will be a shocker to all as it was reported that "the low-profile Republican was close to food and agriculture industries but clashed with farm-state Democrats and environmentalists during her tenure, which lasted from 2001 to 2004." under Bush first administration. She is definitely not a popular figure amongst Democrat lawmakers compare to Chuck Hagel who was not only seen together with Obama during his tour, but was described as a good friend and he opposed the war in Iraq.

He even went further to say in his much-publicized statement: "To question your government is not unpatriotic — to not question your government is unpatriotic." He was referring to the lack of open debate in Congress regarding the Iraq War, and in defense of his assertion that the United States should withdraw its troops. So with all these similar opinion with Obama, he may be a classic running mate made in heaven for Obama this November.

Be that as it may, and whether it's Ann Veneman or Chuck Hagel, the race to the White House this year will be definitely a very interesting run.

Mercedes or Proton, What about Camry?

The Mercedes versus Perdana saga continues with a new twist that the Prime Minister say is OK. That was stated in the Star news online. Flip Flop news, as always. So the Prime Minister's words are above policy decision after all the the hue and cry.

KUALA TERENGGANU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has given his blessings to the state government to use the Mercedes E200 Kompressors as official cars.

Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said this at a press conference here on Friday.

AND now Selangor is going for a Toyota Camry, as this was reported in the Star

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Government is now hinting that it may choose the Toyota Camry as the official cars for its state executive councillors.

State executive councillor for Local Government, Studies and Research Ronnie Liu said the choice was appropriate as the price of the car was reasonable and maintenance cost not high.

“Personally, I feel the Toyota Camry is the best choice and have made the suggestion to the Mentri Besar (Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim).

“However, he has not made a decision. But I feel there won’t be any objection as the Toyota Camry is much cheaper than the Mercedes,” he told reporters here yesterday. – Bernama

Well, well, well..... Looks like the Proton is out and be out numbered soon.

A More Important Dialogue between DAP-PAS-PKR

I find the article below in the Star, as a timely and fresh after all the talks and rumours about PAS-UMNO dialogue, muzakarah, merger or in whatever name. I think what is more important for the sake of Malaysia unity is the dialogue and understanding between the Pakatan Rakyat states. This is more healthy and encouraging and it gives more understanding between the three Parties within Pakatan.

I must applaud Tok Guru Datuk Nik Aziz and PKR advisor DSAI for initiating this first ever dialogue between the Pakatan states.

-----

KOTA BARU: Kelantan has proposed next month for the inaugural meeting of mentris besar and chief minister of the five Pakatan Rakyat-governed states in a move designed to counter allegations of a split in the alliance.

It is proposed that such a meeting be held on Aug 8 and 9 here a few weeks before PAS' own annual muktamar (gathering) in Perak.

Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's political secretary Annual Bakri Harun confirmed the dates but stressed that the organisers were still finalising the details of the discussions.

State PAS secretary Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan is entrusted to head the organising secretariat for the historic high-level meeting.

It is learnt that following the spillover ''effects'' of the three meetings between three PAS decision-making leaders and Umno, namely its president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the proposed meeting would underline the commitment of PAS to uphold the pact agreed with DAP and PKR.

State PAS insiders said Nik Abdul Aziz is strongly supportive of it as the meeting can put to rest various allegations and suspicions which have emerged since the three began governing the states of Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor after the ''political tsunami'' of March 8.

All efforts are being made to ensure that the top leaders comprising of Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim attend the programme.

Kelantan Mentri Besar and PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat was chosen by PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to organise and chair such a meeting based on his seniority.

The tentative schedule is a star-studded ''ceramah,'' the mainstay weapon of the Opposition to be held on Aug 8, followed by a close-door meeting the next day between the leaders of the five states.

Among the proposed issues to be raised are streamlining of administrative policies, forming of joint-committees to study closer socio-economic cooperation between the five and development strategies.

PAS & UMNO?

Is this true or just wishful thinking by some people. If this is true, will that be a betrayal of the trust of the non Muslim who voted for PAS in the recent general election. PAS must be careful not to fall into the traps of powers and personal gains. They did it before and later got thrown out. Will this be a repeat of that same incident when UMNO is at it's weakest. As such playing the game of race and religion will lured PAS into it's trap and the moment UMNO gets a little stronger, PAS will be ditched forever. For the sake of MALAYSIA unity, and as a friend, PAS must be extremely careful.

My personal view and advice is simply this: TALK ALL YOU WANT BUT DON'T BE TRAPPED WITH POWERS AND PERSONAL GAINS OF UMNO.

If PAS is not interested in my 'nasihat', then at least listen to Tok Guru Nik Aziz who stressed that there should not be any Muzakarah between PAS and UMNO or it will split the party greatly. If PAS joining UMNO or BN for whatsoever reason, then I must say it will only be benefiting to UMNO and not PAS. Just let UMNO sink.

Taken from the blog Malaysia Waves

This is an exposition by one of my internal PAS sources. I feel readers will need to know the real picture of the going-ons in PAS. I feel the readers should know that such story of PAS joining with UMNO has it's merits but it is the effort of a small portion of PAS leaders who are already on their way out. And they need to cut this deal to resurrect their dying career.

This is a letter from my source name Ahli PAS Dalaman and i feel it should be shared with everyone. However, the accuracy of this report is solely the responsibility of the writer, and not this blog. TQ

a. Jawatan Menteri Besar kepada PAS di Selangor, Perak, Kedah dan Kelantan.
b. Jawatan exco kepada PAS di Terengganu, Pahang, Perlis dan Johor.

e. Beliau sekarang ini mengasak Presiden parti, Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Hadi bagi membolehkan Presiden parti menggerakkan PAS menyertai BN
f. Lihatlah betapa sukanya UMNO kepada Mustafa Ali sehingga UMNO sedia memberikan hak penerbitan Harakah dua kali seminggu hanya kerana Mustafa Ali dilihat sebagai “kawan” kepada UMNO

1. Dato Dr. Hasan Ali: Beliau sememangnya terlampau kepingin jawatan Menteri Besar Selangor.

Flood Again in Hollow Malacca

Malacca flooded again. Worst of the lot in the whole of Malacca is none other than in Durian Daun Dalam (an almost 100% Malay Kampung) in the constituency of Duyong, the place I ran and lost with a 806 majority to YB Gan Tian Loo of the MCA (BN). Meaning the constituency is under BN and YB is the current Exco for Public Works and Utilities. That place, the moment a heavy rain fall for about an hour this place will definitely flood. Not only that it flooded but water will just flow into the house. It was devastated, personal belonging, mud entering the house and not forgetting unwanted creatures like snakes and what-have-you.

I was there with my wife and son. Our hearts went with them. It was my son first community work at the age of 3 plus.

I called up YB Sim Tong Him (MP Kota Melaka) and we agreed to make contribution in kind for the people in Kampung Durian Daun Dalam bought from Tong Hup.

Went we were back in the kampung, the waters have yet to subside. It was still drizzled. My prayer is that my Lord will just stop the rain in that place.

Now what is the problem? Heavy rain in an hour and flood? Whose fault? What are the faults? Is there an allegation of corruption?

YB Gan, with all the power he has under the state government and his position as "Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Negeri Kerja Raya dan Kemudahan Awam" he could easily directed Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Negeri Melaka to immediately do what they are supposed to do as directed by the state government and that is to improve the drainage or the passageway so as to curb unnecessary flooding. The project was approved by the state before the 12th general election and why the project stops.

As a result of the sudden discontinuance, Malacca suffers every time when it rains. Worst when it rained when the water tide is up and it's level is the same as the land. Then that will spelt trouble for places like Kampung Durian Daun Dalam, Pengkalan Rama Tengah, the surroundings at Bukit Cina, at the back of City Bayview Hotel, and Kota Laksamana. Honestly I am a bit worried when the monsoon season hits end of the year.

So YB GAN, please do your job, NOT just a wakil rakyat BUT an EXCO. I APPEAL to YOU as a MALACCAN on behalf of the people in Malacca.

DNA is Permanent, Mr PeeeM

I wish to thank my brader, Joshua in his blog about DNA where he googled it and came up the article below that talks about DNA being a permanent in nature.

Looks like the Prime Minister just embarrassed himself in front of all MALAYSIANS. Download the YouTube taken by Malaysiakini

Below is some insight on DNA taken from the Star.

Caught by science

By RASHVINJEET S.BEDI

A strand of hair, a toothpick, a drop of blood and saliva on the rim of a cup – hardly tangible but enough to put criminals behind bars and help loved ones identify their dead next of kin. In many of the high profile crime cases, the Forensic Section of the Chemistry Department helps the police put the pieces together.

STAINED bed-sheets. These are items suspicious wives have sent to the Forensic Section of the Chemistry Department to find out if their husbands are faithful or otherwise.

It is a long and expensive process, which involves tracing the bed-sheet for seminal stains, extracting the DNA, amplifying it and testing the samples. If DNA from the seminal stains does not match the husband or wife's DNA, then very likely there is a case of infidelity.

Then there are those who seek the help of the department, which comes under the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry, to ascertain biological links, also done through DNA testing.

In Malaysia though, DNA testing is limited and the Forensic Section is mostly preoccupied with crime cases such as murder, rape and robbery. Many items are subject to testing – clothing, mattresses, nail clippings, firearms, bloodstains, cigarette butts and even chewing gum.

"On some occasions, robbers might have a drink after their job. We can test the cup (saliva) for their DNA," says Primulapathi Jaya, director of the Malaysian Chemistry Department's Forensic Section.

DNA or Deoxyribonucleic Acid is a nucleic acid molecule that contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms (Wikipedia). A person inherits an equal amount of DNA from the mother and father. With the exception of identical twins, a person's DNA is unique.

"DNA is permanent and doesn't get destroyed," says Primulapathi.

"It (DNA testing) is applying science to law to ensure criminal justice. This evidence doesn't lie. How it got there is another issue and that is for the police to find out. Only in paternity cases are we 100% sure," he adds.

Anything that humans come into contact with have traces of DNA, including one's toothbrush. In a recent case, a toothpick found in a car used for armed robbery nailed a member of the notorious Dewa gang.

DNA is taken from every US Army personnel so if anything were to happen to them (for example, blown to pieces beyond recognition), their identity can be confirmed.

The Chemistry Department has been involved in the high profile Canny Ong and Altantuya murder cases, among others. In the Canny Ong case, the convicted killer's sperm was found on her clothing while Canny's blood was found on the killer's jeans.

For now, the Forensic Section is busy with the murder of Goh Yoke Seng, whose body was chopped into 11 pieces and found in a refrigerator in a condominium in Mont Kiara last Sunday. DNA tests confirmed the identity of the deceased.

»This evidence doesn't lie. How it got there is another issue and that is for the police to find out. Only in paternity cases are we 100% sure« PRIMULAPATHI JAYA
A blood sample from the next of kin of the deceased was used to confirm the identity of the body, says Primulapathi.

The time taken to solve one case depends on the number of exhibits received. If there are 100 exhibits, then it may take almost two months to test every exhibit, although police would recommend which exhibits were important.

"The police have improved a lot compared to when they first started. Before, they used to bring ahout 10 exhibits. Now it can go up to 80 exhibits. We try to screen what is relevant and what is urgent. If we have no further leads, then we will proceed with the next items," says Primulapathi.

Most murder cases take four to six weeks to complete but staff work round the clock when there are urgent cases.

"Some cases take time to complete. Complex cases can take a month to interpret, for example, a gang rape involving five or six people," he says.

Testing two DNA samples costs RM1,500, considered to be cheap in the region. In Singapore, it costs about S$1,300 (RM2,951).

The Forensic Section lab is state-of-the-art and has received ASCLD-LAB ("American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board") accreditation after a review by 11 experts from all over the world. It is the fourth lab outside America to gain such status.

Before the DNA testing, preliminary tests have to be done, explains forensic scientist (DNA), Noraidora Saedon. For example, the acid phosphatase test determines the presence of seminal stains. This could take a long time if the exhibit is a mattress. Blotting paper (A4) is placed on the mattress and stains are traced; every inch of the mattress has to be covered.

"Once we determine the location of the stain, the location is cut out and another test is conducted to determine if it's from a male or female," explains Noraidora.

Once that is done, DNA is extracted from the sample. The result is a clear liquid, which is then amplified before it can be tested. This process applies to all exhibits.

DNA from the exhibits is then compared with the suspect's DNA in a crime case. If there is a match, this evidence can be used to charge the suspect in court. If there is no match, the DNA profile is stored in a computer, to be used for future references. In one instance, a taxi driver was linked to six rape cases.

According to scientific officer Sharizah Alimat, DNA extraction can be a tedious process depending on the sample provided. While extracting DNA from blood is considered to be clear-cut, extracting DNA from a piece of bone (without its marrow) could take almost two weeks.

And in this nature of work, a lot of care is taken when handling the exhibits.

"We have to ensure the integrity of the exhibit. The sample must be tested without interference. We adhere to very strict procedures," says Primulapathi.

The DNA profile of staff is taken to ensure they are ruled out in case of any contamination while the exhibits have to be marked clearly so that no mix-up occurs.

"The sample that comes in may not be clean and there may be very little DNA, so we have to take extreme care. We can't rush the work and make mistakes because this involves people's life," says Sharizah.

DSAI ceramah in Sleepy Hollow Melaka

I attended DSAI’s ceramah in Melaka with my partner (not wife, not homo partner, my partner in a law firm). We reached about 5 minutes before DSAI. Personally, I want to hear for myself from what he has to say on the recent sodomy allegation against him. For the record the event started at 9.00pm sharp and finished about 9.45pm and thereafter another ceramah in Kesang Tua, Jasin, going down south to Muar.

It was his first trip outside Klang Valley just after his arrest and interrogation. For sleepy hollow Malacca, and the confusion as to who the remaining speakers and the place holding the ceramah is still very uncertain until the very last hour, the crowd turn out was quite expected with I believe about 5000 people in the surroundings of the house belonging to one Mr. Lim in Cheng.

Two folds in the ceramah. First is on the recent debate on the petrol price and the Other is OF COURSE, the sodomy allegation. Well, here I think I will be more interested to know what had happened to DSAI in the sodomy allegation and how the police treated him.

As everybody knows that there is an on going investigation on the sodomy case, DSAI questioned the police investigation by asking the police to first prove four main facts before allowing his DNA or blood samples be given to the police.

First, “siapa rogol siapa” as the accuser Mohd Saiful is a much taller and stronger person compare to DSAI. It was stated that DSAI allegedly sodomised him a number of times. I personally find it very strange the allegation by Saiful how DSAI a 61 years old man actually does it or capable of doing it. With a back ache since 10 years ago, it’s definitely difficult. More so why didn’t the accuser ran after the first 'act'. It doesn’t make any sense at all.

Secondly, where were the allegation took place. The last time it was in a condominium that was never in existence as it was only build later. So now WHERE?

Thirdly, which place? Mattress….that was the last time. DSAI joked probably this time the Prosecution would bring the whole bed. He also state on record his fear that his blood be fabricated like what had happen before.

And fourthly, who are the witnesses? Are there any witnesses in this present case.

AND ONLY then “I will give my blood” says DSAI with loud applause and agreement.

There are another area I am wondering, as DSAI’s DNA was taken before, I am sure there must be previous records on it. Why can’t the police look at those previous records and made comparison? DNA is just one of the corroborative evidence and is not something that finalized the guilt of the accused. DNA is permanent, the records are permanent.

KJ knows content of DSAI's report?

Taken this transcript of the Parliamentary hansard from my friend and member of PR Encik Shamsul Iskandar (Ketua Angkatan Pemuda KeAdilan Malaysia). Reading the below transcript, one could come to a conclusion that Rembau MP may have known the contents of the Police Report lodged by Saiful (the alleged victim).

Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, demi kebenaran kita perlu dengar apa yang akan disebut oleh Ketua Pembangkang. Demi kebenaran!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Sila duduk,

Yang Berhormat. Datin Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail [Permatang Pauh]: Terima kasih Tuan Yang di-Pertua kerana memberikan peluang. Bagaimana Yang Berhormat Rembau tahu? Apakah Yang Berhormat Rembau tahu content dalam laporan polis? Itu soalan saya.

[Dewan riuh]Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, saya hendak
jelaskan.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Ahli-ahli Yang Berhormat yang lain diam. Tolong diam.

Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, saya hendak jelaskan.

Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: [Bangun]
Tuan N. Gobalakrishnan [Padang Serai]: [Bangun]
Tuan Mohd. Yusmadi bin Mohd. Yusoff [Balik Pulau]: [Bangun]
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: [Bangun]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Sudah, Yang Berhormat.

Kita perlukan DNA!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Baik, Yang Berhormat. Sudah, sudah, Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, sorry, Tuan Yang di-Pertua. Saya perlu jawab sampai habis.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: [Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: [Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Sudah habis masa, Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: [Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: [Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]
Tuan N. Gobalakrishnan [Padang Serai]: Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Masa Yang Berhormat sudah habis. Yang Berhormat Rembau, duduk Yang Berhormat Rembau. Sudah habis, Yang Berhormat. Baik, Yang Berhormat. Masa sudah habis, Yang Berhormat. Saya minta maaf. Masa Yang Berhormat sudah habis.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, point of order.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Sebab?
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Point of order.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Tidak ada point of order, Yang Berhormat.
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Point of Order 36(12).
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat tidak payah…

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: No, ini point of order. Dengar saya dulu. A statement…

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Saya dengar, Yang Berhormat. Dengar saya dulu, Yang Berhormat. Minta dengar saya dahulu.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Satu statement yang dibuat oleh Rembau…

Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: [Bangun]
Tuan N. Gobalakrishnan [Padang Serai]: [Bangun]
Tuan Mohd. Yusmadi bin Mohd. Yusoff [Balik Pulau]: [Bangun]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat, dengarlah saya dahulu. Kenapa point of order Yang Berhormat saya tidak boleh dengar? Semua mulut ini macam cacing kena abu, Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Sekarang dengar point of order.

Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Jangan tunjuk sebelah sini sahaja, Tuan Yang di-Pertua. Sana pun cacing juga! [Disorak]

Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Saya minta Tuan Yang di-Pertua berlaku adil.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Dia seorang sahaja yang berdiri, Yang Berhormat.

Seorang Ahli: Yang Berhormat Pasir Salak, tu!

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Berapa orang yang berdiri saya bilang, Yang Berhormat. Saya hitung! Saya duduk di sini senang hitung berapa orang berdiri. Menteri duduk, semua duduk. Yang berdiri Yang Berhormat Rembau seorang sahaja. Saya bersetuju dengan…

Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Berapa bilangan berdiri? Tuan Yang diPertua cakap suara cacing sebelah kiri. Tidak boleh begitu. I mean mesti berlaku adil.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Duduk, Yang Berhormat. Duduk, Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua.

Dato’ Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Yang Berhormat Gombak marah sangat ini pasal apa? [Ketawa]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Saya tak ada sebut pembangkang cacing…

Dato’ Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: [Ketawa]

Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Tengok Yang Berhormat Pasir Salak! Tengok! [Ketawa]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat ini…

seorang Ahli: Bapak cacing pun ada… [Ketawa]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Duduk Yang Berhormat. Fikir sikit lah [Dewan ketawa][Riuh] Yang Berhormat…

Dr. Haji Mohd. Puad Zarkashi [Batu Pahat]: Pembangkang memang tak faham apa-apa.

Tuan N. Gobalakrishnan [Padang Serai]: Tangan itu tangan kiri hanya tunjuk sini. Cacing paling besar di sana. [Ketawa]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Okey saya hendak Yang Berhormat Puchong.

Point of Order 36(12) yang menyatakan, “Any member who imputes statements That mislead the House is deemed to be contempt of the House and the member may be referred to the Committee of Privileges for the offence”.

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Dan saya hendak tanya Tuan Yang di-Pertua, adakah Yang Berhormat Rembau pegang teguh kepada alasannya itu, say it now? Adalah Yang Berhormat Rembau tetap menyatakan…

Beberapa Ahli: [Menyampuk]

Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Hold on! Hold On! Hold On..

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Dengar dulu. Diam dulu.

Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar: [Bangun]

Tuan Haji Roslan Shaharum [Bukit Gantang]: Jawab Yang Berhormat Rembau. Jawab.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Tak ada Yang Berhormat Rembau. Duduk Yang Berhormat Rembau, minta maaf duduk Yang Berhormat Rembau. Yang Berhormat saya minta maaf duduk. Saya dah dengar Yang Berhormat hendak baca peraturan sudah beri alasan, saya sudah dengar. Saya sudah Yang Berhormat Rembau duduk jadi dengar saya lagi. [Disampuk] Tak kan Yang Berhormat hendak berucap sepanjang hari. [Dewan riuh] Duduk Yang Berhormat. Dibaca peraturan, dituju kepada Speaker, Speaker peraturan dia membuat keputusan. Bukan minta ahli membuat penjelasan. Kalau itulah pendirian Yang Berhormat Rembau, itu fasal dia Yang Berhormat. Jadi tunggu Yang Berhormat.

Beberapa Ahli: [Menyampuk]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Dengar dulu,
dengar saya juga. Jadi kalau Yang Berhormat Rembau cakap macam itu mungkin Yang
Berhormat Rembau kurang memahami macam mana polis bertindak.
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: [Bangun]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Okey tunggu Yang Berhormat!
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua yang bagi
jawapan…[Mikrofon dimatikan] [Terus bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Bukan saya
bagi. Yang Berhormat, Yang Berhormat, Yang Berhormat duduk Yang Berhormat. Saya tak
boleh bercakap. Bila saya bercakap Yang Berhormat berdiri. Jadi siapa yang boleh bercakap
dalam Dewan ini? Yang Berhormat sahaja yang boleh bercakap. Jadi kadang-kadang kita tegur
Speaker banyak bercakap. Inilah sebab dia. Kalau tak saya tak hendak bercakap, saya hendak
dengar orang yang bercakap sahaja. Tolong Yang Berhormat, saya buat keputusan.

Dato’ Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Cacing bangun lagi. [Ketawa]

DR. 16.7.2008

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang
Berhormat Pasir Salak, tolonglah, minta tolonglah.
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Inilah masalahnya ini. Orang yang macam
ini pun boleh jadi Wakil Rakyat. Kalu jadi Penghulu pun nasib baik sudah. Tuan Yang di-Pertua,
saya hendak membantu Tuan Yang di-Pertua. Bukan soal polis kena ikut Yang Berhormat
Rembau. Siapa Yang Berhormat Rembau?
kalau bukan Yang Berhormat Gombak bukan ‘balachi’ Anwar Ibrahim siapa lah dia sekarang.
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: …dia misleading - Duduklah! Tak tahu
peraturankah? Duduk! [Dewan terlalu riuh]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Tapi Yang
Berhormat Padang Serai dengan Yang Berhormat Puchong juga…
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Duduk! Duduk! [Dewan terlalu riuh] [Ramai ahli berdiri]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang
Berhormat Gombak tak payah. Timbalan menteri pun duduk.
[Dewan riuh]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: [Mengangkat
dan menunjukkan ‘gavel’] Saya biasanya letak sini Yang Berhormat, saya ketuk kepala.
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Ha Ketuk! [Dewan ketawa]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Tak guna
hendak ketuk sini. Kalau ketuk sini orang tak dengar. Keluar daripada sini ketuk kepala mungkin
orang dengar. [Dewan ketawa][Disampuk] Bukan ketawa sana sahaja semua sekali Yang
Berhormat.
This is a public document, mengapa setelah dua minggu…
Dato’ Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Itu peribadi Anwar.
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Pergi la ambil laporan polis.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat dengar dulu. Jangan berucap panjang sangat masa kita…

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Baik, baik Yang Berhormat.
Dr. Haji Mohd.
[Dewan riuh]Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Baik Yang Berhormat. [Dewan riuh] [Mikrofon dimatikan]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Sudahlah, Yang Berhormat Rembau sudahlah. Sudahlah.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat Puchong pun duduk jugalah.
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Point of order, saya hendak teruskan dengan…
Dato’ Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Itu Anwar Ibrahim punya hal.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Point of order
ini ditunjuk pada peraturan sahaja Yang Berhormat. Lepas itu Speaker buat ruling. Lepas
Speaker buat ruling Yang Berhormat tak setuju apa punya point of order buang dalam tong
sampah Yang Berhormat.
Dr. Haji Mohd. Puad Zarkashi [Batu Pahat]: Dengar cakap Tuan Yang di-Pertua.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Masalah Yang
Berhormat fikir dia sendiri bijak sahaja. Itu masalahnya Yang Berhormat saya dah baca dua…
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, saya ingin mengemukakan
Kenapa susah sangat Tuan Yang
di-Pertua hendak dengar saya?
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: saya dah
dengar Yang Berhormat.
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Lepas itu kita kena gantung pula. Itu yang
menjadi reaksi nampaknya.

Kalau berani we query
outside.
mengatakan macam-macam mengelirukan. Tapi Tuan Yang di-Pertua nampaknya hendak beri
penjelasan untuk pihak dia. Tidak boleh! Tuan Yang di-Pertua sepatut…
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang
Berhormat duduk Tuan Yang di-Pertua. Ini kah perangai orang baik Yang Berhormat?
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: 36(12), 36(12)
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Duduk. Jam
dah 12.59 Yang Berhormat. Tak apa Yang Berhormat tak payah Yang Berhormat. Kita dengar
semua. Besok kita nilai dalam Hansard apa Yang Berhormat Rembau sebut.
Seorang Ahli: [Menyampuk]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Apa hendak
pukul? Saya pukul Yang Berhormat juga. [Dewan riuh]
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua saya perlu jelaskan 36(12) Point Of Order. Saya hendak jelaskan di sini. [Disampuk] Dengar dulu, sabar,
dengar dulu.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat Pasir Salak minta tolong biar dengar dulu.
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Yang saya terdengar Yang Berhormat
[Dewan
riuh] Memang saya setuju.
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Ha! Now dia tukar. Now dia takut.
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, saya hendak
jelaskan sahaja. [Dewan riuh]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang
Berhormat. Ya, saya tahu Yang Berhormat semua cerdik.
Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar [Rembau]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua…
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Duduk Yang
Berhormat. Yang Berhormat Gombak. Saya sudah dengar Yang Berhormat.
Dato’ Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua ini Anwar
Ibrahim punya hal peribadi, apa yang sibuk-sibuk.
Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali [Gombak]: Apa Yang Berhormat Pasir Salak bangun?
[Dewan terlalu riuh]

DR. 16.7.2008

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang
Berhormat. Yang Berhormat Rembau minta tolong duduk Yang Berhormat. Kita duduk dulu.
Duduk dulu.
Tuan Gobind Singh Deo [Puchong]: Saya minta dia tarik balik apa yang dia kata tadi.
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang
Berhormat saya juga dengar Yang Berhormat Gombak buat tuduhan Yang Berhormat. Jadi saya
kepada Committee of Privilege Yang Berhormat? Jadi saya fikir kita dah balance dah. Kita
Kita dah baca semua dah
Yang Berhormat. Minta tolong Yang Berhormat.
Tuan N. Gobalakrishnan: [Menyampuk]
Beberapa Ahli: [Menyampuk]
Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Saya faham
Yang Berhormat. Itulah kena belajar dengan Ipoh Timur. Ipoh Timur kata we are not going to
take action sampai kita baca apa yang ditulis dalam Hansard Yang Berhormat.
Belajar dengan orang tau macam ini. Orang dah lama macam ini. Kenapa kita mahu
bising pula. Belajar Yang Berhormat. [Disampuk] Tak ada takut Yang Berhormat. Orang berani
tak ada takut Yang Berhormat.
Jadi Yang Berhormat Rembau masa Yang Berhormat Rembau sudah habis. Tak ada
jawapan lagi kalau hendak, tunggulah gulungan menteri nanti kalau hendak bercakap lagi. Jadi
soalan tuduhan dan tuduhan, banyak tuduhan jadi siapa hendak refer kita? Semua hendak refer
to Committee of Privilege jadi saya pun kena tuduh tak buat kerja betul Yang Berhormat. Kalau
saya betul menggunakan peraturan Yang Berhormat. Saya boleh keluarkan dua, tiga orang
daripada Dewan. Kosong Dewan, jadi kita tak hendak Yang Berhormat. Kita hendak gunakan
[Disampuk]
Orang Sarawak ‘kelakar’ ni cakap Yang Berhormat. [Ketawa] Kalau saya dah marah saya dah
keluar cakap-cakap Sarawak itu.

A Resignation.... any more?

MCA Central Committee Member Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew resigned from MCA recently and in her press conference she says that she shared the people’s frustration over the widening gap between the rich and the poor in the country, racial discrimination with regards to policies, rising corruption and abuse of power. She further says that it was timely for a two-party system to provide the necessary check and balance to safeguard democracy, promote moderation and peace in the country.

After 50 years of merdeka and after 20 years she has being with the Party, and she NOW shares the people's frustration. Well some people take that long to realise mistakes, masih tak terlambat.

I believe the frustration was not merely all the above but the more than 20 years of mismanagement without accountability and integrity. It is so difficult to digest the fact that our inflation rate is 6% or so, where as our household items such as rice doubled. Now days in order to eat lunch for two people, one would have to spend at least RM15.00 per lunch. The difficulty is pressing on the people to take on double jobs, part time work or even freelance. Some may go into illegal means just to meet end's need.

But still it is not too late....JOIN PAKATAN.

DSAI's Press Statement

The below is DSAI press statement after his release:

On Saturday (July 12), police came to my house to serve a Section 111 Criminal Procedure Code notice, harassing my family and demanding my presence at the IPK Kuala Lumpur at 2pm, Monday (July 14).

On the next day, Sunday (July 13), police also served an ex-parte court order, prohibiting me from physically being within 5km from Parliament on Monday (July 14).

My house and the IPK KL are within 5km radius from the Parliament building. The court order effectively put me under house arrest on Monday and at the same time prevented me from going to the IPK.

On Monday, the presence of police officers outside the compound of my house strengthened our suspicions that they would be prepared to arrest me as soon as I left the compound of my residence, on the pretext of me violating the court order.

The issue here is which order should I comply with, the ex-parte court order or the Section 111 notice from the police.

On the same day, police through I.O. DSP Jude Pereira, wrote and faxed me at about 1.06pm, informing that I was to be present at the IPK KL on Wednesday (July 16) at 2pm.

I conveyed my agreement and it was communicated to the police through my solicitor Messrs S.N.Nair & Partners via telephone and letter on the same day.

On Wednesday, I was at the ACA head office to record my statement pursuant to the police report lodged by me at IPK Shah Alam on July 1.

We cut short our statement at the ACA’s office to ensure we will be able to attend our appointment with the police at 2pm.

At 12.45pm, DSP Jude called Nair to confirm our attendance and Nair confirmed that we will be there.

We were about to have a quick lunch at my house before proceeding to the IPK . Five minutes later, we were ambushed by a team of masked and heavily armed policemen near my house.

I was arrested and brought to the IPK. I cooperated fully with the police by giving my cautioned statement from 2.30pm to 7.30pm. At this particular point, the IO and the other officers handling the case were doing their job professionally.

I was then given assurance by ACP Ramli and later SAC II Khor (through my lawyers) that I would be released on police bail on the same day.

However, upon my return from HKL, DSP Jude informed me and my lawyers that I will be detained and put in the lock-up overnight for the purpose of recording a further statement in the morning.

I and my lawyers protested, but the police were adamant despite them knowing about my physical condition.

This morning (Thursday), a short statement was recorded for 30 minutes and I was released on police bail.

I now wish to deal with the statement of CID director Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin as appeared in Utusan Malaysia.

(Bakri was quoted as saying the police had to intercept Anwar and arrest him in Bukit Segambut because he changed the direction of his vehicle in the last minutes before the 2pm deadline)

This is a blatant lie from the CID director.

I have given assurances and had just informed the I.O 5 minutes before the disgraceful ambush by the police through my lawyer who was with me in the same car.

In addition, the Deputy Home minister (Datuk) Wan Farid said, as reported in STAR online that I ’went voluntarily to the police car without any incident.’ This again, is a blatant lie by the Government.

I take to task the IGP for this abuse of power against me though the events I’ve narrated above.

It appears that the nature of my unwarranted arrest, my overnight incarceration, were an act of personal vengeance against me in retaliation yo the reports I lodged earlier against him, which are now being investigated by ACA.

Syed Hamid TEMBAK sajekah....

CM says this, Minister say that and the Governor will be the Chief Minister's witness.

Syed Hamid, tembak saje kah. What type of Home Minister is this? It makes a mockery of the Office who would have Malaysia top intelligence including the police under his palm. And yet he can be mistaken, I wonder where he got his source of information from.

If at all the Minister is wrong, then he should resign for misrepresenting and giving false information to members of the public.

War of words over ‘meeting’ (taken from the Star)

A WAR of words has erupted between Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar and DAP leaders over whether the party’s top leaders had attended a meeting with Pakatan Rakyat leaders on July 9 to discuss a demonstration allegedly planned for Monday.

Syed Hamid insisted in the Dewan yesterday that the authorities had information that DAP secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was at the meeting.

“I will retract what has been said of Yang Berhormat if the information is found to be untrue. The details of that information are not with me but I can tell you more at other forums,” he said.

Lim had earlier denied that he attended the meeting, claiming that he was with Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas on that day.

“I was in Penang and there was no meeting at the Parti Keadilan Rakyat headquarters,” he added.

At a press conference in the Parliament lobby later, Lim reiterated that he had an alibi to prove that he was carrying out his duties as the Penang Chief Minister on that day.

“On the 9th of July, I was with the TYT of Penang to discuss preparations for the Penang Governor’s birthday and in the evening, we had a charity birthday dinner held in his honour.

Arrested

DSAI arrested about an hour before his deadline at 2pm. Police says, fearing that DSAI ffk (fang Fei Kei) and as such effecting the warrant of arrest against Datuk Seri.

Deputy Home Minister says “According to the information I received, he went voluntarily to the police car without any incident and that under police custody, he has given his full cooperation.” (source:The Star)

and Lembah Pantai MP says : "the arrest of her father was carried out by Special Action Unit commandos, similar to what happened in 1998"

No wonder DSAI went voluntarily to the police car. Or else..... you wouldn't want to know what happen NEXT.

So what does the Opposition Leader says "It is a feeling of déjà vu. Of course, now my children are big and I am in Parliament. But I feel it should not have happened this way"

Massive.....

It was a massive jam, created not by the police but under the instruction of the federal government. There were road blocks at almost every corner of Kuala Lumpur since Sunday. And I have read here that it will go on for the whole day UNTIL further notice. Reason for such drastic action, NATIONAL SECURITY in the interest public security.

Though Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar (Home Minister) issuing an apology to the Malaysian public but reiterating that the police operations were undertaken in the interest of public security, the whole situation should be handled properly and in an orderly fashion and not let Malaysians going to their offices cursing the police (though not their fault only acting under a superior command) for the discomfort caused.

What reasons are there to justify such arbitrary act by the powers that be. The reasoning blanketing national security is not something which the authorities can always claimed. There are many instances the authorities used such a reason, such as, the arrest of Hindraf leaders claiming that they have being supported by terrorist and as at to date NO EVIDENCE of such link brought by the authorities. The Opposition went one step by even asking the government what makes the authorities do what they have done in the today massive jam. Were there illegal gatherings at the first place? If there are, who are the organisers?

People want to see evidence of such as accusation and until such evidence is brought before the people, the authorities should not raise it and justify their action.

Everybody knows, a massive jam like what had happened in the city, would cause great distress to the economy and people of all walks.

I told you so.....

What did I tell you... IT WAS REJECTED.

KUALA LUMPUR: Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia rejected an emergency motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his Cabinet, which prompted a walkout by Opposition MPs.

The motion was filed by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail last Thursday.

It was filed as a non-voting motion under Standing Orders 18 (1) and (2).

The motion was rejected in the Speaker's chambers under Standing Order 18 (7). Dr Wan Azizah was informed via a letter.

The matter was not brought up in Dewan.

The motion was rejected by the Speaker due to the "wrong choice of words."

The Opposition MPs walked out after their appeal for him to review his decision was rejected.

Pakatan Rakyat leaders said they were disappointed with Pandikar Amin's rejection of their emergency motion.

They also condemned the police roadblocks across the city, saying the action was "unjustifiable."

D-Day for PM Abdullah.....

The motion is in last Friday. The motion will be debated on Monday and that is IF, YES IF, the Dewan Speaker allows it. So if he allows it, then there will be a debate and subsequently a vote. If the vote is successful then goodbye to Abdullah Badawi and a new Prime Minister is appointed by the YDP Agong. This was never done before, and if it is so, it will be unprecedented.

I doubt a vote be taken and should a vote be taken whether by secret ballot or show of hands, the motion will be defeated by a majority even if SUPP voted together with Pakatan Rakyat. Unless of course a swing of votes from some disgruntled members from the ruling UMNO and members from East Malaysia.

Anyway let us watch and see with ONLY LESS than 12 hours to see whether the motion be debated.

A Gimmick? You Decide...

A political gimmick? A BN gimmick... I wonder why NOW. Nothing short of getting back Indian votes I believe. Suddenly there was a sense of guilt by the powers-that-be. RM120 million for the Indian community, is it enough for four years, hmmmm, divided by four, and if my maths is right each year the Community will get about more or less RM30 million. I don't think that is enough? Allocations for what? Poverty? Education? Estate Workers? Economy? Employment? Everything is still so uncertain....

Gimmick. Another empty promise

Govt approves RM120m for Indian community

By A. LETCHUMANAN

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has approved a RM120mil allocation for the development of the Indian community for four years following a request by the MIC.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said the RM30mil allocation each year would be used to help single mothers become self sufficient as well as for youth programmes and other programmes to help the needy.

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi gave the approval recently," he told reporters Saturday after the end of the one-day MIC general assembly here.

He said that the allocation was part of the RM300mil sought from the Government in May to help poor Malaysian Indians.

The assembly went smoothly without any untoward incidents as Samy Vellu was in his element, ticking off delegates as well as cracking jokes. He also urged the branch chairmen to read the various booklets and use them as "ammunition" to answer the party's critics.

Several delegates touched on education, economy, employment and party unity while some spoke on the need for the president to continue to lead the party.

Former MIC deputy president Datuk S. Subramaniam, who also spoke, called on members to forget their differences and work together towards strengthening the party.

"I am saddened with the party's loss in the elections. We have to find the weaknesses and rectify them," he said, adding that the MIC was a strong party.

Subramaniam said the party did not take heed of the activities of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) as they were deemed to be fighting for the rights of the Hindu religion.

"But they (Hindraf) were hijacked by the Opposition and they fell for it, requesting the people vote for the Opposition. This was a big disappointment to us," he said, adding that the challenge is to bring them to the MIC fold.

He also praised Samy Vellu for not giving up but continuing to work for the betterment of the Indian community.

The assembly passed five resolutions. One of the resolutions expressed support for Abdullah’s leadership as PM.

The MIC also urged the Federal Government to establish representative committees at the state and district levels to serve the people in the five Opposition-held states.

This was necessary, as MIC has no representation at the state and local governments in Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Penang and Kelantan.

In another resolution, MIC urged the Government to monitor the delivery and implementation mechanisms in order to achieve the targets within the specified time frame and to allocate sufficient funds and personnel.

The party also called on the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry to set up enforcement squads to monitor the prices in rural areas and to prosecute retailers and shopkeepers found to have raised prices without approval.

Postponed Again....

YB Lim Jack Wong ADUN Bachang), YB Goh Leong San (ADUN Kesidang) and YB Sim Tong Him (MP Kota Melaka) case on the unlawful assembly, so called rioting and 'curi besi' was postponed to another month. They have not being charged, still on police bail. I am now wondering how efficient our police force in their investigation and at the same time the capability on the Attorney General's office in framing the charge against our three local heroes.

Now since the matter happened three months ago without a charge preferred against them, looks like the legal team will now proceed to file a civil suit against the OCPD, government of Malaysia and Police DiRaja Malaysia for the allegation of police brutality and abuse of power against YB Lim who was bitten unnecessarily.

Below are some photographs of the press conference immediately after the release of YB Lim three months ago and also the forum organise by state DAP titled "Polis atau Samseng".

PI Disappeared...

Now Mr Bala aka the PI disappeared. So is it really, that threats of one's life do exists? What about the notion of beautiful and harmonious Malaysia where threats of one's life is not our culture said our DPM and PM recently. Why Mr PI disappeared suddenly?

The first Statutory Declaration as according to his former lawyer, Mr Americk Sidhu was made when he is in his right frame of mind. As stated in one news report that he believed the private eye had been coerced “by either threats or promises as I can think of no other reason” and that it was voluntarily made without duress and it was written over a a period of one and a half months in several meetings with Balasubramaniam, each lasting hours...as according to Mr Americk Sidhu.

Then come the second SD which not only shocked Americk Sidhu but I believe a right minded Malaysian that within 24 hours his client had engaged the services of another lawyer and made another statutory declaration, swearing that the first one was untrue and that he had been forced to sign it.

Mr Sidhu also said as reported in the news report, “As I am familiar with Mr Bala's character, having spent hours recording his statement, I am very sceptical that he signed the second statutory declaration on his own free will."

So can one perceived that the second SD is tainted with some form of illegality and undue influence by some irresponsible third party.

A statutory declaration is evidence given under oath which cannot be retracted. It is liken to facts stated in court under oath and if that declaration is found to be false then the person making the said declaration can be charged in court for perjury. Just saying that the first SD declared was under duress is not enough. There must be compelling evidence to suggest that there is some form of duress and undue influence.

The new SD withdrew all statements that Balasubramaniam had revealed during a press conference organised by PKR de facto leader DSAI on Thursday and this included the fact that he had informed police what political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda had purportedly told him prior to Altantuya’s murder.

So where do we go from here? Or rather where is Mr Bala now.....

PI Bala’s nephew lodges missing person’s report (Reported in the Star)

KUALA LUMPUR: R. Kumaresan, nephew of private investigator P. Balasubramaniam, lodged a police report in Brickfields here on Saturday over the disappearance of his uncle, aunt and their three children.

Kumaresan said it was unusual for calls to his uncle to go unanswered. He added that Balasubramaniam and his family had been in communicado after the private investigator made a new statutory declaration, retracting his original statutory declaration on Friday.

In the first statutory declaration, Balasubramaniam had claimed that police omitted vital information, allegedly linking Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder case.

On Friday, Balasubramaniam revealed in a second statutory declaration that he was “compelled to affirm the (first) statutory declaration dated July 1, 2008 under duress”.
