Introducing the Bankrupt Party....MCA

MCA is definitely bankrupt party. Bankrupt for the fact that they have no issues to raise except challenging DAP on Hudud. First it came from their President advising DAP to boycott the by-election and nowTerengganu State MCA Chair, Toh Chin Yaw is challenging DAP stand on the matter. Simply bankrupt. Maybe DAP should just advised MCA to sack their political bereau chief for all the wrong advise.

MCA in fact should be more constructive in correcting the wrong that is long pending such as major issues of corruption and integrity. Especially so when BN major shareholder is seen as the most corrupt with money politics all over until police reports were lodged against their leaders. Maybe MCA should also go back into history when they supported the former Prime Minister's declaration that Malaysia is an Islamic State or Malay Supremacy coined by UMNO. Or maybe what happen to Amanah, Bersih dan Cekap. So if MCA fails to explain themselves on the issues mentioned therein, don't challenge the DAP with Hudud.

MCA's challenge is only a ploy or a political game to get votes from the Chinese. As far as I am concern, PAS will not implement Hudud at the Federal level. Husam Musa have retracted it and it ends there. As such Hudud is a non issue for now. If PAS intends to introduce it, there must be discussion and debate within their Pakatan partners and not unilaterally act upon it. We all know that PAS, alone with only 23 Parliamentarians cannot at any point adopt Hudud as Malaysia Criminal law. PAS need 2/3 to amend the constitution or pass a law by majority. So as far as Malaysia as it is now is concerned, still follows largely the Penal Code. As such, MCA's challenge is just a dog barking liken to be empty vassel making the loudest noise.

So as far as I am concern, the DAP will support PAS in this by-election without any second thought. The DAP will make sure a victory in PAS election come January 17, and of course, the next seat, Pesiangan, Sabah, and the year after that the fall of Sarawak and hopefully would see the down fall of the Barisan Nasional federal government. That would be a dream come true.

A Resignation.... any more?

MCA Central Committee Member Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew resigned from MCA recently and in her press conference she says that she shared the people’s frustration over the widening gap between the rich and the poor in the country, racial discrimination with regards to policies, rising corruption and abuse of power. She further says that it was timely for a two-party system to provide the necessary check and balance to safeguard democracy, promote moderation and peace in the country.

After 50 years of merdeka and after 20 years she has being with the Party, and she NOW shares the people's frustration. Well some people take that long to realise mistakes, masih tak terlambat.

I believe the frustration was not merely all the above but the more than 20 years of mismanagement without accountability and integrity. It is so difficult to digest the fact that our inflation rate is 6% or so, where as our household items such as rice doubled. Now days in order to eat lunch for two people, one would have to spend at least RM15.00 per lunch. The difficulty is pressing on the people to take on double jobs, part time work or even freelance. Some may go into illegal means just to meet end's need.

But still it is not too late....JOIN PAKATAN.

Blackout in Duyong Part 2

A candlelight dinner for two in Duyong. Very romantic just for everybody who stays at the vicinity of Semabok Dalam right to Family Store at Duyong. Especially the month of May, three times deep blackout. Either everybody in Duyong fail to pay their electric bills on time or a power tripped due to unforeseen circumstances. Well that is what our TNB boys will always singing the same tune once when there is a blackout.

Yes, again the same ole same. The fifth blackout in Duyong after the general elections. I am wondering whether are we living in the 21st century or at zaman batu purba where we used fire to light up our gua. But what da hack.... Malaysia Boleh.

He Found His Voice

KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is not an Islamic state under the Federal Constitution and it should never become one, MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said Friday. Helooooo, we all know that except the Barisan Nasional coalition partners. Malaysia is NEVER an Islamic state. The Federal Constitution provides in Art 3 which clearly states that Islam is the religion of the federation. So any declaration by anybody that Malaysia is an Islamic state contravene the sacredness of the constitution which is the highest law of this land : Article 4.

He said MCA held firm to the constitution and would not tolerate any Pas statement on turning the country into an Islamic state. So what about the declaration by the then Prime Minister during the Gerakan General Assembly and the recent proclamation and declaration by the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister? So is MCA still going to agree? Or is it because they lost many seats in Parliament and State Assemblies. Seriously once bitten twice shy. I can never believe MCA any more.

Such a statement, he added, was not only unacceptable and dangerous to the multiracial society but also breached the constitution. Hmmmm he now ONLY knows

"MCA is totally against it. Our forefathers have already discussed and agreed that all different races would be accommodated. So, we will hold firm to the spirit of the constitution," Ong told reporters after chairing the Presidential Council meeting at Wisma MCA here. Of course MCA is against it. But that was during the days of the fore fathers and not during the era of Tun Ling Liong Sik or even Datuk Seri Ong Kah Ting. Why only now a sudden change of thought?

He was commenting on PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din's statement in the party's mouthpiece, Harakah Daily that PAS would amend the constitution and turn Malaysia into an Islamic state if it held control of the federal government. PAS always wanted to turn Malaysia into an Islamic State. So between PAS and MCA, at least we know who are more principled in their ideology. I rather argue with a person who I know their ideology rather than another who follows the wind. AND we all know that PAS can never change the constitution unless they have 2/3 in Parliament. So at least for now they can't do anything except dreaming on it.

To a question that when similar issues arose last year and both Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had said that Malaysia was an Islamic country, Ong replied:

"No matter who used what term to discuss about Malaysia, they can't change the fact that the constitution protects people of other faiths. I think we should not debate this. This is clearly stated in the constitution". Duh... we know that except MCA

Ong also demanded Pas allies, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and DAP to state their stand on the issue to the people. PKR and DAP stand is so clear. Malaysia is NEVER an Islamic State. I think Ong Kah Ting is saying that just to correct himself. As far as I know DAP will never agree to PAS Islamic state ideology. AND as at for now PAS in their Manifesto just stated 'Islam is for all'. Nothing in their manifesto states the forming of an Islamic State.

Meanwhile, MCA Youth chief, Datuk Liow Tiong Lai has asked the Pakatan Rakyat (People's Alliance) to apologise to the people as it had made promises to the voters that it would not push for the creation of an Islamic state during the general election. Hmmmm another really stupid fool. So long as PKR and DAP lives, Malaysia is not an Islamic State or Islamic Country. I believe the people are more mature now days in determining their own future. Chinese voted for PAS and Malay voted for DAP. So what's the problem?

The health minister said DAP and PKR should apologise for cheating on the voters, adding that the opposition was beginning to show its true colours. The only cheaters are MCA. MIC and Gerakan. They cheated the people's right together with UMNO. So please MCA, MIC and Gerakan take the first step to apologise to the people. You have frustrate the trust given by the rakyat.

Something is MISSING

On the left is Ali Rustam whom I always called him Ali Gostan for having policies that are simply backwards and bad for Malacca with a lot of unnecessary spending and on my right is first term MCA state assemblyman for Kesidang, YB Datuk Koh Nai Kwang who holds position of an EXCO after the demised of Datuk Poh Ah Tiam last year. Both wishes "Happy Chinese New Year". Fishing votes? Yes. Following MBMB's procedure? No.

So, what is missing? You can't find a license sticker by the City Council at anywhere pasted at the banner. Clearly went against the law. Or I would call it a blatant act of disregarding basic laws of our land. Maybe they feel that they are above the law. Laws are not for BN but the rakyat alone.

"Chua should be able to shed more light on the perpetrators who resorted to video-taping him in a compromising position with a woman. The culprits responsible should be punished," he added. "I read from the papers allegations made by Chua about his political enemies, but there are no further details. I believe the public, including myself would like to know who were the people responsible for using such dirty tactics. "It's unfair for us to make wild guesses based on what he (Chua) said. So I welcome it if he is willing to reveal who is/are behind all this. I like to know more details about this case," he told reporters after meeting with his Taman Muda constituents here today. He was asked to comment on Chua's interview with the press in Putrajaya yesterday in which the former MCA vice-president claimed that his downfall was due to political rivalry. Chua resigned as Health Minister and Member of Parliament for Labis as well as all party posts on Wednesday (Jan 2), a day after admitting that he was the senior politician featured in the sex video that was widely circulating in Johor. "If Chua can reveal more details, it can help to stop any kind of negative political culture in the country. Let's make this a lesson for everyone. We need to address it before it develops into some kind of unhealthy political culture. "Anything that's not right must be weeded out," said Ong.

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has tendered his resignation as Health Minister, MCA vice-president, Johor MCA chief and Labis MP.

He announced this at a press conference Wednesday here.

The announcement came a day after he held a press conference in Labis, Johor, where he admitted to being the man in the sex DVDs circulating in Johor.

The two DVDs which had been available in Muar and other towns in Johor show Dr Chua having sex with a woman whom he described as a “personal friend” at Tuesday’s press conference.

“I have seen Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting and I have personally apologised to them,” said Dr Chua on Tuesday, reading from a one-page statement.

On Tuesday Dr Chua had said he would not be resigning from his posts.

“I leave it to party members, leaders and the Malaysian public to be the judge. It's not for me to speculate.”

The 60-year-old doctor sold his medical practice in 1990 to go into politics.

He is married to Datin Seri Wong Sek Hin. The couple has three children.

Taking it like a MAN

At least he apologise to the Malaysian people for his act. It was a brave thing to do as most politicians would just deny it and sleep through hoping that the whole world will just forget about the whole incident. I know it will be tough on his family and MCA to deal with but nevertheless he did what he could do to save the rot.

I remember in law school, we studied Constitutional law in Year 1. John Profumo's sexual misconduct was cited as a source of reference. He was a Defence Minister in the early 60s during the cold war, who had extra marital affair with one Miss Christine Keeler, a model.

I must say that having extra marital affair was something a MAN thing to do, but for a Minister that shed lights to his professional and public conduct. Matters of public policy definitely outweigh personal interest, if one set to become a public figure such as Datuk Chua.

Miss Keeler also had sexual relations with one Ivanov, the senior naval attaché at the Soviet Embassy, as such the "Profumo Affair" took on a national security dimension. As Mr. Profumo was the Defence Minister, a resignation was the only thing that he must do.

Likewise an apology though sincere, is not enough to influence public perception. Nothing short of a resignation as a Minister would suffice. Though he may say that his appointment is at the pleasure of the Prime Minister, the responsibility and accountability to the public at large is paramount thus outweigh the personal nature of his conduct. So a more gentlemanly would be to resign rather than a fall from grace.

The sex DVD had been circulating in Muar, Tangkak and Batu Pahat over the past few days. The existence of the DVD was first reported in the Chinese dailies on Sunday while a Bahasa Malaysia daily reported about it Monday.

What a bang? I find this amusing though I wanted to know BADLY who is this Menteri in Johor. What can I say.....I'm just a kepo (busybody).

Hmmmm anyway I am more amused with this :

Maybe I should suggest the police to investigate the contents of the DVD rather than to investigate the distribution of the DVD. The police should not limit themselves to only investigating the crimes of distribution under section 292 of the Penal Code but also to investigate other elements of crime including the act of pornography. There must be a thorough investigation on it more so as it states that it involved a Minister from a political party that is second in command in Barisan Nasional.

There should not be any cover. Either you shame him OR clear him, if he is innocence.

PM disappointed....what for

Excerpts from the Sun newspaper....

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi says he is disappointed by the release of a video clip depicting a conversation, allegedly between a lawyer and a judge, on the fixing of judicial appointments.....

"This issue is important as it has caused a lot of damage to the country's judiciary system. If the evidence show what transpired in the video was not the truth, action should be taken against those who released the video, as well as all those who lodged ACA reports.

"I am disappointed. The video was released with the aim of getting the people angry with the country's judiciary system....

Asked whether a special commission would be set up to investigate the case, he said: "There is no need for one."

JOKE of the year. Scrutinize the interview I can conclude :

(i) PM is disappointed

(ii) PM is disappointed because of the release of the video

(iii) PM is disappointed because of the release of the video depicting the rot of the judiciary

WORST still....

WHAT THE TOOOOOOOOOT..... this is unbelievable when statements like that comes out from the Premier. He should look at it more positively and do the necessary act to correct the rot. Unfortunately he is seen not wanting to do anything except to say "I am disappointed". What a response?

Facts Fear

I stepped into Paya Mengkuang for a sumptuous. It was porky pork from the first till the fourth dish. It was a save-the-pig campaign hosted by the Penduduk Paya Mengkuang. Yes the pig farm saga. Pig Farmer vs Majilis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah or more exact the State government. Speeches after speeches from distinguished people in the industry. The dinner was attended by Chinese Associations, Chinese Businessman, Political parties (including MCA) and the kampong people supporting the cause, whether it's Chinese, Malay or Indian. It was not a chinese thingy but a Malaysian thing.

I was glad to see the support given by the Malays in the area even though, pig was HARAM to them. But as I said it was not just a Chinese affair but the government handling of the matter coupled with political pressure by certain individual. And as I said also it has nothing to do with politics. No political speeches were made but plain HARD FACTS, HARD to kunyah for some. Uncle Kit was there as the last speaker and what he spoke was plain facts. Facts that are hard to swallow by some. Of course when Uncle Kit spoke, some that can't take HARD FACTS literally walk out from the hall. MCA I mean.

MCA kowtowing to UMNO...as usual

(Petaling Jaya, Monday): Despite his puzzling and confusing explanation that Malaysia is neither a secular state nor a theocratic state but a parliamentary democracy, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s latest statements show that he has clearly defined Malaysia as an Islamic state. By stating in an interview with The Edge September issue that the syariah courts can be fair to non-Muslims and that non-Muslims can get justice from syariah courts is a dangerous indication that the jursidiction of syariah courts extends to non-Muslim.

Abdullah even said that the adminstration of the syariah courts shall be improved to prove that it is not against non-Muslims. For the Prime Minister to declare that syariah courts can be fair to non-Muslim and is not against non-Muslims is a statement of intent to compel non-Muslims to seek justice in syariah courts.

This goes against the fundamental constitutional principle that non-Muslims are not subject to syariah courts but only to civil courts. For Abdullah to extend the syariah courts’ jurisdiction to cover non-Muslims is both wrong and a dangerous extension that is illegal and contrary to our 1957 social contract that gave rise to Merdeka and our Federal Constitution.

MCA has issued a statement expressing disagreement with Abdullah. However such statement again only appears in the Chinese press but not in the non-Chinese press. This proves that both Gerakan and MCA are playing “double-faced” politics in saying a different thing to the Chinese community but showing their true version in the Malay community of quiet submission and complete obedience to UMNO.

MCA President Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting should prove that MCA is fighting for the rights of all Malaysians and not for UMNO’s interests by demanding that the Prime Minister state clearly that Malaysia is a secular state where non-Muslims are not subject to the jurisdiction of syariah courts in accordance with the Federal Constitution. Failure to do so would show that Ong does not comply with his own statements that the Federal Constitution is the guiding principle in the resolution of all disputes.

Ong: Chinese not second-class citizens

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese community should not see themselves as “second class citizens” just because of extremist views by certain quarters, said MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.

“These statements are not from the Government’s decision-makers. Our rights are enshrined in the Federal Constitution, and we are Rakyat Malaysia,” he said in his winding-up speech.

Ong also hit out at the DAP, saying the opposition party was only out to seek publicity with no intention of obtaining a solution.

He said the MCA could not behave like the DAP because the community or those involved would suffer because the problem was not solved.

“If we only need to talk with no delivery like the DAP, every one on the stage here can talk or debate much better than the opposition party.

“Opposition parties only know how to talk and criticise but have done nothing to resolve matters for the benefit of the people. In comparison, the MCA has greatly contributed to the country and its people since it was formed 58 years ago,” he said.

By involving MCA representatives at all levels of government, Ong said the party had been able to contribute effectively in the development of the country to improve the people’s standard of living and economic prosperity.

“The achievements of the MCA should not be measured by how many statements it has made but should be assessed by how many problems it has resolved from within, how effective it has been in its contribution towards the implementation of projects that have benefited the people and the role it has played within the Government to ensure that administrative policies are just to all communities,” he said.

He said the MCA leaders and members should not feel discouraged or demoralised when the Chinese community criticised the party.

“The only reason they criticise the party is because they care and love the MCA,” he added.

Talk Only .... just a show by MCA

No Action Talk Only. A summary from me to the present MCA. Bark now, Hide later without resolving anything but adhere only to their political master, UMNO. It was reported during the MCA Youth Assembly held in Malacca it's Movement chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said the spirit of the Constitution must be preserved for a long time for the sake of the future generation and the document must be the reference point. He went on to further said that, “Whenever there is a conflict of opinions about a situation we are not comfortable about, we should refer back to the Constitution.” Maybe I should also state a point that the whole gathering was in Mandarin (so it would be alien to KJ).

A copied and paste words from Raja Nazrin Shah who spoke recently and now our dear friends in MCA suddenly have the limited guts exercise only when the general election is around the corner. In short MCA have nothing except for loud gongs distorting and hiding real facts. Their Ministers (non UMNO) unlike Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, UPKO President, backed out like dogs with their tails in between their legs. That in short described the present MCA.

Will they defend the constitution? I doubt their sincerity. For they will only bow down to their political masters and rice bowls. So what if they wave the constitution (unlike UMNO they wave keris and wanting to use them), will they use it to protect the rakyat regardless of race and religion. Will the MCA able to bring UMNO for a social and open minded discussion that creates healthy environment or rather to toe the line what UMNO says.

Ban ar?

I wonder whether is there a ban on the recent ban by the government in discussing the issue of Islamic State in the media. Is there a ban? I'm a little puzzle as to whether there is a ban or not since people in UMNO keep on talking about the issue and issuing unnecessary threats. Hmmmm maybe the ban only applies to MCA ONLY whereas it's political master UMNO is not subjected to the so called ban.

This time Khairy Jamaluddin joined the fray as reported in today's Berita Minggu. He states that Malaysia is not a secular state but an Islamic State that is not autocratic. He further states that Islam is the official religion that was enshrined in the federal constitution and as such is not secular like Turkey, Indonesia or France. Seriously, what is the hell is he talking about. Maybe he should get the AG to advise him on what is meant when one say "STATEHOOD" He is just blaring, like what a politician is good at. Again election is nearing. And again PAS days are numbered.

Yesterday, Hisham issued a really unwarranted and unbecoming threat which I think make him real stupid. In conclusion, only those who are in UMNO are able to dictate policies even how discriminating the policies are which MCA, MIC, GERAKAN, PPP, PBB, LDP, SUPP, PBS, and the other ampu parties ALL are slaves to their political master. Do you call that power sharing? Dream on....

What is Chua Soi Lek taking about?

How could he distant himself and call the peaceful demonstration as IRRESPONSIBLE? Hello, these are civic minded people who are just afraid of the high rise in crime. We are not talking about just the Chinese community but every walk of life of all Malaysian people. I think they (the demonstrators) are a responsible lot of people who believes that they are stakeholders of this land. So what that Datuk Seri just said is more IRRESPONSIBLE than any Malaysians. Please there is nothing to do with racial BUT Malaysians wants security and demanding the Menteri Besar to act for and on the behalf of the people.

JOHOR BARU: MCA has distanced itself from the recent demonstration held outside the Mentri Besar’s official residence and said that it was organised by “irresponsible” parties.

Johor MCA chief Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, who categorically denied the party’s involvement in the demonstration, accused those responsible of “playing with fire.”

“These irresponsible people have turned crime into a racial issue and if they are not careful, it can get out of control,” he said, adding that the entire Chinese community should not be blamed for the actions of a few irresponsible ones.

He was speaking to reporters after officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hospital Permai site in Johor Baru.

Dr Chua, who is also party vice-president, said an SMS meant to incite the public was also making the rounds and that he would appeal to the police to investigate where it originated.

On Sunday, police stopped an anti-crime demonstration outside the Mentri Besar’s official residence here and picked up two protesters who resisted a police order to disperse.

About 100 people had gathered there at 10am to stage their protest in response to two violent rapes reported over the past week, one involving a 19-year-old girl on June 12 and the other a 35-year-old woman the next day.

Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Shafie Ismail said the protestors, aged 24 and 27, have been remanded until today.

“We will investigate their role in the protest,” he said.
