It took us about five hours and long winding but it was a journey full of satisfaction and an increase of agriculture knowledge. For the first time, my wife, son and I standing and touching paddy in a paddy plot at Seberang Perak. Thank God the plots are dry, getting ready to be harvested the next day. I was there not only to respond to the invitation by my friend, En Nasaruddin the independent scientist who founded the new technology BUT also to witness myself the powerful and fast growth of the paddy created by this technology.
I have heard of the Jelapang Padi Negara in Kedah and the FELCRA land in Seberang Perak during Geography lesson but never thought of literally stepping into the plots with my whole family, plucking and holding it in our hands, paddy, the rice that all of us eat, is indeed fascinating. It is truly a joy to see a success in our project. Now it is already 110 days and it's time for the great harvest of 50 hectares of bio organic conditioner paddy, a first of it's kind here in Malaysia. And of course of after that, there will be a lot of hard work as there are many papers to be prepared and presented as well as a lot of research and development on to the project.
After the long wait come with a lot of faith and prayers, we are now seeing the crops. It was gold at first sight. Large area of land given to us a joint venture with FELCRA. We provide the expertise and bio fertilizer and conditioner and they provide the land and the seed. After almost six months doing all the ground treatment and seeing the paddy grow, I was told that FELCRA was so impressed that they intend to deliver to us another 1000 or so hectares to do paddy farming using our patented technology titled Bio Organic Soil Conditioner for Paddy Farming. It makes agriculture produce a success, free from the use of poisonous chemical pesticide.
The words Bio Organic simply would mean the use of effective microbes for the purposes of growing agricultural produce unlike the previous method of just putting chemically treated fertilizers that not only stunt the growth of the crops and destroy the soil but also cause a lot of harm for consumer. With this technology, it creates a better essential inorganic compounds that would release the nutrient slowly so as to enable to maximise the up-take of nutrient by the plant and minimize the waste of nutrient through leaching process. The Bio Organic Soil Conditioner also enhances the water retention of soil and the zeolite in the conditioner will increase the soil pH for the better growth of the plant. Together with the soil improvement, we also manage to invent a new Bio Organic Pesticide that will not require the use of chemical poison. This is STILL A SECRET until we are able to finalise our patent documents.
We continue to hope with the success of our first season, we hope to embark into the second season soon with greater and higher hopes for excellent crops for a better harvest. As stated in my earlier post, we hope to have at least 7 tonnes (we can reach a maximum of 10 tonnes) of paddy rice as compared to 3 tonnes from other one hectare lot not using our technology.
God bless Malaysia.
